Great Weekend
We had a great weekend, lots of things got done, yesterday was a big wine day, no not wining, wine, the stuff one drinks. We are now in the wine making business, I have to start cleaning bottles or we have to drink the stuff as it comes out of the carboy.
The leftover apples we cooked down and made apple sauce. Tastes great, slightly fermented.
We had to rack 4 lots of 5 gallons, 2 prickly pear and two apple. As you saw yesterday we picked more prickly pear and that meant that we had to start them on there initial fermentation.
In the afternoon we had Linda and Jack visiting us, and Helen and Michal also came for afternoon tea and apple cake.
We must have done something right in the garden, the crows like it.
Today Monday was taken up with making phone calls to Germany to my ante Hildegard and to a friend Evelin, this Skype thin is just great, you can talk for ever and it costs nothing or very little.
So it was possible for me to read the new blog entry from Hannah and Mathias to Hildegard, she does not have a computer.
So now I am on my way to wash the car and pick up my honey from the train.
