Its great weather for Ducks

It does not help to tell us, as some of our great friends do, how warm and sunny it is at home. The weather here has not been all that crash hot since we have arrived here, but we did make the best of it yesterday and walked for miles. First we took we walked along the shoreline for about two hours, and after some breakfast we took a bus to downtown Sydney and then visited David Jones, a big department store on the lines of Nordstroms. I wanted to show Patricia my favorite delicatessen which takes up the entire bottom level. It was floor to ceiling stuffed with Christmas item like English Christmas Puddings, tins of cookies or chocolates, nutcrackers - you get the idea - very European. From there, we explored some of the underground shopping areas we had not seen before and took a short trip around the central business district (CBD) and Darling Harbour on the monorail. We continued our walk to Glebe (about 3 miles) where I had lived in the 70s and 80s and where I had some of my restaurants. Trying to surprise my friends Grahame and Peter did not work, no one was home. We did visit my produce grocer or at least his son who now runs the store, and being Lebanese, of course, we walked away with a bag full of groceries and a dinner invitation when we return to Sydney in a month or two. After walking along Glebe Point Rd some more and enjoying a Gelato, we took a bus back to Coogee were Uli was slaving over a hot stove preparing a chicken curry and a lamb curry for dinner which we indulged while visiting with Jochen As always, Jochen was in great shape telling jokes, and we had lots of laughs until wine and tiredness overcame us.
