Getting there
We made it throw the first day in Sydney. After a grueling few days of packing stuff away into storage and cleaning our living space to the hilt, it was time to leave. Spot on time at 3:00, Natalie and Maria gave us a lift to Solana Beach where we would get the train to LAX. We got to the Airport in plenty of time, got our selves into the cattle drive through security, (it was not too bad, but it made me think of how easy it is to control a population and about the systems we put in place to be 'safe').
Our flight left at 22:10 and after a 14 and a half hour flight and four movies, a couple of documentaries and a musical selection from about 1000 options in several categories, and two very nice meals, we arrived in Sydney.
Greeting us was Uli, the world traveler, who took us to her great home in Coogee, about 3 miles from the ocean (east coast) with a view down to the bay. Patrica was ready to get her camera out and start shooting when a Mynah bird landed right on the verandah! The Mynah and Magpies are constantly singing their very distinct songs. Rainbow lorikeets zip overhead in groups of two to six, and Patricia is now challenged as to how to capture them in flight. Several Sulfur crested white Cockatoos where fighting in the Jacaranda trees which are just coming into bloom. We started fading about 19:00 after Uli made a great baked salmon dinner.
We are happy to be back here in Sydney and looking forward to what's awaiting us in the next few weeks.
