David Alan Collection

Thursday evening I went to see the opening of the new David Allen collection, and as always, it was magnificent.
David and Amita just have the knack for putting on a great show. There was fantastic artwork, great food, drink,(Tequila, Wine & Soft Drinks) music and lots of interesting visitors.
This time the exhibit was about creating art out of a given piece. David handed 100 wooden elephants to villagers and art students in Bali and asked them to create their own artwork by decorating them as they liked. The inspiration came from seeing how everyone has a different slant on the same object,
After three weeks, they returned the elephants.  They are now on display at the David Alan Gallery in Solana Beach.

This is one example.  I did like the ones created by the under 18s the most.

Beautiful art is all over the place

As always, there was music, and where there is music, there is happiness.

The longest line was at the wine table (I wounder why?).
In any case, it was a great evening. Sorry if you weren't there.

I was also reminded that Amita is still very involved in her School in India, very busy people.
