What a weekend

It's already Tuesday, and now I get time to tell about the weekend.
Last week, our friends Guido and Annette arrived from Colorado with the goal of moving here to CA, not that we need more people here, but we can make an exception.
On Sunday, they got word that their bid was accepted, and they got the place they wanted.
But I am getting ahead of myself. On Saturday morning, Michal and I started using our new Chipper in all seriousness and eliminated one of our compost piles.
At the same time we had Jose and Alejandro pulling back the gravel on the drive way and putting down some black tarp to prevent weeds from coming through, just as we did at the Biergarten.

Also at the same time, David was pulling all the weeds out of Helen's cactus garden, while Helen cleaned other parts of the property and the house.
At 1:00, Michael gave up and started the fun part of the weekend, not to say that chipping is not fun too.
We picked up Guido and Annette and made our way to the Sports Arena where Alex and family entered a Robot competition. This was my first experience with this kind of entertainment; you really have to be there to appreciate it.
Needless to say we had lots of fun and especially seeing what some young people can do these days. There is, in my mind, lots of hope for our future. If you really want to find out what it was like, go to Natalie's Blog.

Driving back north, Michal took us along the coast to La Jolla to the Glider Port.

Sunday we invited Guido &; Annette and more friends around for a late afternoon hanging out in the Biergarten. In the morning, Patricia & I went to see a 'The Adjustment Bureau' with Matt Damon;, we liked it.

Then at around 5 in the after noon everybody descended on our place and had a great time, and as the sun went down, it got colder and everyone congregated around the fire-pit.

While Maria kept the fire going.

All in all it was a great weekend ,and we are looking forward to a lot more of these..
