Santa Ynez
On Sunday we went for a road trip to the Santa Ynez Valley.
With us came Christine and Lisa, two interns working at GENI, Patrica wanted to show them a bit of the country side, and as we wanted to go to the valley anyway it was a great fit. We left at about 10 in the morning from Encinitas and made, in a leisurely manner our way to Santa Barbara where we stoped for a while and walked along the beach and pier. Then Patricia took as on a short tour through Santa Barbara, and then over the San Marcos pass into the Santa Ynez Valley.
After driving this cannon and that side road, and some wine and dinner in Los Olivos we ended up at our hotel in Solvang. It started getting dark so Patricia and I hit the jacuzzi for some warming up.
Monday morning, or maybe closer to lunchtime, we went to Rancho Market and got some food for a picnic, to be had in one of the winery's along the path, with an ice bottle of white wine.
Along the way Patricia handed out some great lessons on how to take great pictures, very well received by all.
After the picnic we got our apples for making the apple wine, (this is the next story)
then we visited the place where Patricia did her childhood stunds. The people who own the place now compleatly rebuild it and put a second story on it, it looks really great. Later we went for Dinner in Santa Ynez proper.
Tuesday morning we packed up and drove to Santa Barbara where we let the girls loose for shopping and sight seeing.
It was, in my estimation a great weekend, I was in haven traveling with three beautiful girls.
