Down sizing

Once again we are on the move. After having looked after Homer and Jessica's house, we spent a week taking care of Michal's house again.  This week, we will mind Tom and Wendy's place and also look after Sandy and Lon's house until the end of September.
In the meantime, for the gap on weekend, we are camping. Sandy and Eddie have a camper parked in their front yard and offered it to us for the three days between the house sitting gigs.  It's very comfortable, and it is also very quiet over here - no street lights and no noise at night.  It takes a bit getting used to after being in the big houses, but I like the coziness of the place.
This was last week

This is today.  Being flexible is the secret.

All and all, it is an interesting journey.

Homer's adventures

I am Homer, top dog, and everybody loves me. For 6 weeks,
Patricia and Michael spent time with me.
It was quit pleasant, if not sometimes a bit hectic.
I do have to do everything myself, do I now?
So I have earned my rest.
But then I am ready for my walk at the dog park.
I did have to contend with some other dogs, like Banjo & Sasha at times
and am not at all interested.
Then there was the pool party @ Peter and Ashley's. You
won't get me into that water.
There are all these nice people.

Then there are the days I need to work in the Archive.
Or at GENI's World Resource Simulation Center (WRSC)
Sometimes I have to entertain Patricia, Sparta & Marley.
Makes a dog just want to hide somewhere.
I got to check out the smells of downtown Encinitas,
and pick up Patricia & Glen from the train.
Well, after all that in 6 weeks, I am ready to relax; I am all tuckered out.

It's almost been a Month

It's been almost a month since my last entry, and I mean to write in it every day, and every day seems to get shorter than the day before.
For the last six weeks, Patricia and I have been taking care of Jessica & Eli's home and their Shitzu, Homer.
Homer, the top dog

We have to say that Homer is the best behaved dog we have ever encountered, as long as Patrica hand feeds him, and he is not left alone for too long.
When we got there on the 10th of July, the first thing Patricia looked at was the front courtyard and started to make plans to redesign it - with previous permission from the owner.  Good husband that I am, I went strait to work and pulled all the weeds, and I mean everything went. I did not even have time to take adequate 'before' pictures.
This is the closest to a 'before' picture, and lots of stuff has already been removed.

Now it's a blank canvas, and Patricia can play.

And play she did.

Now this is only one part of it; there is another and larger part on the other side where we actually began.
First we had to move a 300 pound Buddha up the plank to the far right corner from the side shown above.

Then Patricia & Homer worked out a design.

And after it began to take shape, Homer had to test it out and give his approval.
He's mostly worried that his digging space is gone!

There are some more pictures on my Facebook.

On a more personal note, I have been walking alot, 7 to 10 miles a day over 2 months. I've lost 20 lbs. along the way and am resolved never to find them again.  I've been walking with my Fitbit device.  If you are curious, go to FitBit and see for yourself.
