The quint market

In the Black Forest near Freiburg, we found a little market hidden away in a gorge traversed by the railroad tracks which are supported by a series of four extremely tall arches.

We missed the turnoff for the first parking lot in the valley nearby and closest to Freiburg and had to drive all the way up the mountain through Hell Valley to Hinterzarten. It's called Hell Valley because of the steep and well traveled switchback road to get there.
From there, we had to take a bus back down to the gorge and, of course, the reverse to get home.
Entering the market one travels back in time to another world, a magical world.
Here is the proof; I am still to skinny
This is a very nice locally run market rather than a commercial one. Folks from the area exhibit their handicrafts, and I had to hold Patricia back from purchasing too much.

So instead of buying things, we got some great food and did I mention Gluehwein?
This guy's scrapping melted cheese onto a bun; it's called Raclette.  Yummmmm!
but we had a great bowl of Goulash soup and a bier
and a crepe with applesauce for dessert.
In between, we warmed our exposed to the elements parts at various fires around the market.

Burning from the inside out
