The weekend up north

After coming back from Europe, having missed being with Gavin, we spent quality time in the garden.

Gavin doing most of the work in the garden, that is, when
he is not playing some games.

Demolishing his First Birthday cake

He's experimenting with the slide from his Granddud Ben and Grammy Becky,

Or having interesting and entertaining converstions with his Oma

We have now cut our babysitting to three days a week, which gives as a four day weekend (the dream of most working people) and a chance to get away to some exotic destinations.
Our first trip is to Seattle, the city where Patricia got her Masters at the University of Washington, and also where her mother was born and lived for a time. Mom also went to the UofW.

We took advantage of the flying benefits we are getting from Daireus' job, leaving the house at the ungodly hour of 4:00 in the morning, and got on the first flight out of San Diego.

Seattle is a bit colder then San Diego, overcast and drizzling, just as I had heard it would be.
We booked an AirBnB room in Port Angeles, a quiet little place a bit west of Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula. On the way there, we stopped at a great tavern to have lunch and a beer.
Just feels like home

With a great plate of Cioppino.

We arrived at Diana's beautiful and very quiet place to find a kindred spirit in so many ways. We had time to relax and converse with the resident cats.

Don't know who is more in heaven.
